At winter there is a lot to do at Hawkhill. You can go slide down Hawkhill on a sled, play in the snow or go for a swim in the icy lake!

We can arrange you with variety of guided activities during the winter from snowshoeing to ice sculpting classes.

Please note that the activities are only available for guests that are staying in our villas and for companies organising their company events or wellbeing days at our premises.

Winter wonderland beside Helsinki

Even though winter is not always that white in Helsinki, there’s often plenty of snow at Hawkhill. We get just a bit more snow and its colder so usually our guests are surprised when they arrive! We are perfectly located only 45min from Helsinki Airport and midtown Helsinki.

Snowshoeing basics

Guided snowshoeing trip to the Nuuksio National Park and over the frozen lake starts from your cottages door steps. During the trip you will learn the basic techniques of snowshoeing.

Guided ice swimming experiment

Experienced ice-swimmer will tell you about the health benefits and relaxing effects of ice-swimming. She will then guide you to your first ice-swimming experiment. You get to dip into the black water in the lake and experience the exhilaration of ice-swimming and then go warm up in the heat of the Finnish sauna.

You can also try ice-swimming by yourself when staying at Hawkhill. Please note that ice-swimming is possible only for guests that are staying in one of these three cottages: Villa TaavettiVilla Maria and Villa Juhani.

Ice sculpting class

The ice-sculpting class takes place on your cottages yard. An ice-sculpting professional will teach you the basic tools and techniques of ice-sculpting. You are then divided into small groups and you will get to sculpt the figures of your choosing. This might sound hard, but the results are impressive even for beginners as seen in the picture!
